The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from ASHI gives teenagers and young adults everything they need to know to be successful babysitting.

Required for completion: A written evaluation and active participation in the course activities.

Skills Evaluation: Students must perform required skills competently without Assistance.

Successful completion is based on achievement of the core learning objectives rather than a
prescribed instruction time. CPR+AED and Basic First Aid are introduced during the course no
certification given. CPR mask and babysitting book included. Bring a snack for each day class.
*10 year olds no certification given

What is a better way to serve the community than to attend the YMCA Community Reach Camp?  This camp aims to provide different volunteer opportunities for your child to experience, and learn how to act on our YMCA character value of  “RESPONSIBILITY.”  Each week campers will work with multiple community organizations to help with locations that will range from food banks, park clean-up, humane society help, a nursing home and more!  the camp will meet at the Wapakoneta Family YMCA and we will transport the campers to the locations.

Want to be a detective and solve crimes?  want to lean how to set up your own escape room?  Your camper will be learning wht clues that need to be collected to solve a crime.  Campers will talk with local detectives, go behind the scene at a local escape room, solve clues to escape from a room and design their own escape room.

Does your child love the outdoors?   Everyday is different when it involves getting dirty, exploring nature and doing some fun outdoorsy crafts!  Campers will travel to local parks, meet with some of our favorite naturalist, go birdwatching, hiking and more.  This camp is sponsored by Nutrien of Lima

The course is designed to build a foundation of knowledge, attitudes, and skills for future
lifeguards. The course focuses on building communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills, as
well as providing basic knowledge and skills required to participate in the course when they are 15
years of age or older. Upon successfully completion of the course the participant will receive Yasa
certification (YMCA Safety Assistant), Cpr/AED, First Aid certification card, whistle and a Cpr mask.
Pre-requisite for participants to swim 100 yards, tread water for 2 minutes, and swim underwater 10 feet.  Bring lunch each day.

Want to learn about howto take great pictures?  Why not try the Photography Camp.  Don’t own a camera?  No Problem!  Bring your cell phone with you and learn how to use the settings, lighting and filters to take even better pictures.  Campers will take nature pictures, pictures in town and around the Y.  Campers will also make their own portfolios of pictures and have them displayed.

Want to try a different sport for your child?  Why not try all of the sports this summer at Sports Camp   Your camper will try soccer, volleyball, archery, golf, floor hockey and the popular pickleball.  Each day will be dedicated to a different sport with different drills activities and games.
